Service
Planting, circulation, grading, and material direction resolved into a garden plan that feels architectural from the first sketch.
What we do inside Landscape Design
Landscape design at GREENPLACE is masterplanning, not decoration. Below is what we resolve on every project — from the plant palette to the systems underneath.

Climate-honest palettes — California native, Mediterranean, and selective ornamental — composed for the property's microclimate and architecture.

Specimen tree selection, mature canopy preservation, and shade structure across the long view.

Soil assessment, regenerative amendment, root-zone tuning for new planting, and grading that supports drainage and plant health.

Sun studies, sightline planning, and shade strategy so every zone of the property reads correctly across the seasons.

How you arrive at the house. How you move through the property. Where the eye rests. Composed before any paving is set.

Hardscape palette, finish boards, and material continuity with the house — proposed before any commitment.

Used when scale, grade, or sightlines need to be tested before construction. Not as a default spectacle layer — only when it earns its keep.

Concept → design development → build-ready docs. A phasing framework so the property can be executed in stages or all at once.
Service perspective
Landscape design at GREENPLACE is masterplanning, not decoration. We align architecture, circulation, grading, planting, materials, and hidden systems so the garden reads as one calm composition and continues to improve over time.

What this service must resolve
Will it last?
Built on engineering: drainage, base prep, and structural details.
Will you manage complexity?
A clear process, calm cadence, and one point of contact.
Will it feel like us?
Direction, customization, and collaboration, not catalog design.

Chapter 1
What the design phase actually resolves
The point of design is not to generate options endlessly. It is to settle the hierarchy of the garden: how you arrive, where you move, how planting frames the architecture, where hardscape should feel quiet or emphatic, and how lighting and water support the atmosphere after dark.
Chapter 2
Where visualization earns its keep
We use 3D studies when they remove uncertainty, not as a default spectacle layer. Visualization is most useful when scale, grade, sightlines, or the relationship between architecture and landscape need to be tested before construction starts.
Chapter 3
How the work moves from concept to build
The Eden Consultation establishes fit and direction. Concept work then sets the big moves: layout, atmosphere, material language, and investment alignment. Design development adds the specificity required for confident construction, with lighting, irrigation, planting, and finish choices resolved enough to protect the build.
Chapter 4
Our Design Collaboration
Every project begins with an Eden Consultation where we study the property, listen to your priorities, and align on the right scale of transformation. The best landscapes come from genuine collaboration: your lifestyle and architectural context paired with clear design direction, material judgment, and visibility into timing, scope, and decisions.

Most projects work best when landscape, hardscape, lighting, and stewardship are resolved together.

Terraces, paths, retaining walls, steps, and outdoor structures built with precise detailing and material discipline. Every surface is engineered for drainage, stability, and longevity.

Custom focal pieces, sculptural details, and curated finishes that give the garden its signature.

Seasonal care that protects the craft: pruning, soil health, replacements, and performance checks.
