Case Study
A contemplative garden shaped around stone, water, and patient seasonal structure.
Project thesis
This Riverside property called for more than planting. It needed a sequence: arrival, pause, reflection, and a calm evening atmosphere. We composed the garden around stone placement, water, evergreen structure, and lighting that stays warm rather than theatrical.
Stone, water, and circulation resolved into a garden that feels quiet at every hour.
Program
Private contemplative garden
Scope
Design, drainage, lighting, planting
Priority
Calm through every season
Outcome
Quiet arrival and evening atmosphere
Before
The yard lacked grading clarity, circulation, and a coherent planting language. It felt exposed during the day and disappeared entirely at night.
After
The finished garden is intentionally quiet. Stone establishes rhythm, water softens the atmosphere, and evergreen planting keeps the composition legible across seasons.

Partner Lens
The palette was intentionally restrained so the landscape would feel architectural, not thematic.
