How the work feels day-to-day
Not five. One. Each phase ends with a single working meeting where you approve direction, materials, or budget — then the team moves.
Site photos and a short progress note land in your inbox each week. You stay informed without being asked to manage the build.
The same lead from Eden Consultation through stewardship year 1. No baton drops between design and build.
An annual photo review during stewardship — so you can see year 1 against year 3 against year 5. The garden is supposed to get better.
Site engineering principles
We start with water, slope, soil, and future maintenance. Beauty has to sit on engineering, or it won't survive the second season. This is the first problem we solve — and the one place we don't cut corners.

Drainage, irrigation, stormwater management, smart-controller management, drip-readiness audit.

Slope stability, retaining walls (CMU + alternatives), erosion control, hillside / VHFHSZ fire-zone awareness, geotech coordination as needed.

Soil & root-zone engineering, maintenance access, root barriers, foundation prep for hardscape and planting.

Material grade, field-tested hardware, plant warranty, multi-year improvement schedule, serviceability without restarting the project.
We document site risk early — water, access, slope, drainage, roots, materials, schedule, and ownership boundaries. This reduces surprises during build and after handover.

Plant warranty standard
Included as a line in every GREENPLACE proposal — no extra fee. Standard on every project. Covers plant establishment failures within the first 90 days, with one-time replacement for qualifying plants in the original scope.
Coverage subject to standard maintenance compliance. Specific terms documented in each project proposal.
