Our Commitment
GREENPLACE Inc is committed to making greenplaceinc.com accessible to the widest possible audience, including people with disabilities. We recognize that web accessibility is essential to inclusion, and we are working to ensure that all visitors can access information about our landscape design and stewardship services regardless of how they use the web.
We aim for our Site to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, an internationally recognized standard for digital accessibility published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
Conformance Status
We currently believe greenplaceinc.com partially conformsto WCAG 2.2 Level AA. "Partially conforms" means that some portions of the content may not yet fully meet the accessibility standard. We are actively working on the remaining items.
Accessibility Features
Visual
- Color contrast: we target WCAG 2.2 AA contrast ratios and remediate issues found in testing
- Resizable text: text can be enlarged up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
- No information conveyed by color alone: form errors, status indicators, and other visual cues use both color and text/icons
- Alt text: all meaningful images include descriptive alternative text; decorative images are marked as such
Keyboard navigation
- Keyboard access: primary links, buttons, and forms are designed to operate with the keyboard alone
- Visible focus indicators: interactive elements are designed to show a visible focus state
- Logical tab order: keyboard navigation follows the visual layout
- Skip links:"Skip to main content" link available at the top of every page
Forms
- Visible labels: all form fields have visible, programmatically associated labels
- Error messages: form errors are clearly identified, described in text, and announced to assistive technologies
- Required fields: marked both visually and programmatically
Screen reader compatibility
- Semantic HTML: pages use landmark regions and a structured heading hierarchy
- ARIA labels: complex interactive components include appropriate ARIA attributes
- Tested with: VoiceOver (macOS, iOS), NVDA (Windows), JAWS (Windows)
Motion
Reduced motion: respects the prefers-reduced-motion system setting; animations are reduced or disabled when this preference is set.
Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, the following areas are known to have accessibility issues that we are working to resolve:
- Some PDF documents (case studies, brochures) may not yet be fully accessible. HTML versions of all critical content are available as accessible alternatives.
- Embedded third-party content (Google Maps, video players) may have accessibility limitations outside our direct control.
