Architectural lighting, water, smart irrigation, sound, sensors, and robotic mowing — the invisible systems that make the garden work.
What we do inside Intelligence
Lighting, irrigation, water, sound, sensors, robotic mowing, and the controls that bind them. The Intelligence pillar: every system we install is engineered to be quiet, energy-efficient, and reliable for the long term — so the garden feels alive without ever feeling busy.

Uplight on specimen trees, downlight from canopy, moonlighting, path + step illumination — warm 2700-3000K, full-cutoff shielding, no glare.

Drip-first design, smart Wi-Fi controllers (Rachio, Hydrawise), pressure-compensating emitters, weather-based scheduling, zone discipline.

Closed-loop recirculation, UV sterilizers, auto-fill, skimmers — water designed as an architectural element AND for the SoCal maintenance reality.

French drains, channel drains, catch basins, sump systems — engineered before paving, planting, and finish so water never argues with the architecture.

Lutron Caséta / RA3 for lighting, Rachio / Hydrawise for irrigation — one mobile app. Voice via Alexa / Google / HomeKit when you want it.

Discrete outdoor speakers (Sonos, Origin Acoustics, James Loudspeaker) tuned for ambient music + masking sound for water features. Scenes wired to lighting.

Soil-moisture sensors, weather-based override, motion-triggered light scenes, dusk-to-dawn schedules. The garden adjusts itself; you stop managing it.

3D studies for complex grade, view properties, or partner-led coordination — testing scale, massing, and lighting before construction starts.

Husqvarna Automower and Mammotion Luba autonomous mowers commissioned with boundary wire, charging-station siting, and homeowner handoff — where the site allows.

Scene calibration, controller programming, network commissioning, and a documented system map at project close so any qualified contractor can pick up the care.
Service perspective
The Intelligence pillar: every invisible system that makes the garden work. Architectural lighting, smart irrigation, water features, subsurface drainage, ambient sound, environmental sensors, Wi-Fi automation, 3D site planning, robotic mowing, and a documented homeowner handoff. Each system is engineered to be quiet, energy-efficient, and reliable for the long term — so the garden feels alive without ever feeling busy.

What this service must resolve
Will it last?
Built on engineering: drainage, base prep, and structural details.
Will you manage complexity?
A clear process, calm cadence, and one point of contact.
Will it feel like us?
Direction, customization, and collaboration, not catalog design.
Included in the scope
Chapter 1
Light as a calm layer, not a Christmas display
Most outdoor lighting we inherit on remodel projects falls into one of two failures: a stadium-bright security floodlight ruining the garden after dark, or a grocery-store strand of brightly-colored landscape spots aimed flat at trees and shrubs. Neither serves the property. Our work is the opposite — quiet light that reveals architecture, planting, and circulation without announcing itself.
Chapter 2
Water — small interventions, big atmosphere
A water feature done well becomes the acoustic centerpiece of the garden. We design water as an architectural element: scaled to the space, plumbed for low water use, and engineered for the maintenance reality of a Southern California summer (algae, mineral scaling, evaporation make-up).
Chapter 3
Smart controls and the long-term reality
Lighting + irrigation + water = three independent systems unless you make them one. We standardize on a small set of proven control platforms (Lutron Caséta or RA3 for lighting, Rachio or Hydrawise for irrigation, equipment-side controls for water-feature pumps), all reachable from a single mobile app. Voice control via Alexa / Google / HomeKit when the homeowner wants it. We do the network commissioning, schedule the scenes, and walk you through the handoff at project close.
Chapter 4
Fixtures we specify (and why)
We use brass and bronze fixture bodies (corrosion-resistant), genuine MR16/integrated LED with replaceable lamps, and shielded optics. We don't specify the disposable plastic spike-light systems sold at big-box stores — they fail in 18 months and stain the project.

Most projects work best when landscape, hardscape, lighting, and stewardship are resolved together.

Terraces, paths, retaining walls, steps, and outdoor structures built with precise detailing and material discipline. Every surface is engineered for drainage, stability, and longevity.

Custom focal pieces, sculptural details, and curated finishes that give the garden its signature.

Seasonal care that protects the craft: pruning, soil health, replacements, and performance checks.
